Issues on the site are put in categories determined by the WEB Master. One of the categories is ‘About this site’. Any changes you would like to see, e.g. additional categories, could be entered as an issue under this category. If enough members vote for the issue, it might be implemented (at the discretion of the WEB Master) unless technical issues makes it undesirable.
Terms and Conditions
It is a non-profit site, run by a concerned citizen, allowing people to vote on issues set up by them and if an issue has enough support, to set up a petition and deliver it to the most appropriate entity, including the list of supporting email addresses.
Please don’t abuse this ability and it might actually serve you well.
If an issue attracts enough attention, it will be promoted to become a petition to the relevant entity. The wording of the petition will be taken from the original wording of the issue and submitted on behalf of the creator of the issue. Before submission, the creator of the issue will be contacted by email to inform him/her that the petition is being raised. At that time they can choose not to have the petition submitted under their email, in which case it will be submitted by ‘wearethevoters’.
In an attempt to avoid abuse of the voting system, users have to register with their email address and a password. They will be sent a voting number that they have to use, in conjunction with their selected email, to activate their membership, and thereafter log on with their emal and password before they can vote. This is used to stop double voting as much as possible on the WEB.
The threshold for a voting issue to become a petition will be determined by the WEB master at his/her discretion.
Any person can register an issue for voting, however, the promotion to a petition is at the discretion of the web master and will be controlled, automatically, by the software.
The use of abusive/bad language or issues that are politically incorrect are not allowed. Any issue containing such text will be removed as soon as it comes to the attention of the WEB master. The creating member might have his/her membership revoked at the discretion of the WEB master.
This is a private site and NOT Moderated. The WEB master and anyone that is directly or indirectly responsible for running the site can in no way be held accountable for issues raised or wording of issues. Complaints must filed (emailed) to the WEB Master at wearethevoters@ntlworld.com and will be responded to by the WEB master within a reasonable amount of time.
The site is intended for issues related to the public in general, but does not exclude issues involving commercial companies or anything that might be of interest.
Any issue will automatically be removed if it does not attract enough votes (the threshold still to be determined) within a time period to be determined.
Issues, that qualify over the minimum threshold, will be kept open for a maximum period (to be determined), unless otherwise arranged, after which it will be archived.
In the interest of fairness, all issues will have a positive and negative voting ability. For purposes of determining whether it should be promoted to a petition, the difference will be the determining factor.
Privacy Statement
Information supplied to this web site will not be made available to any third parties and will not be used for marketing or any purpose not directly related to providing this service. Details will not be disclosed of how anybody has voted on any issue, or by whom an issue was raised, unless it will be a criminal offence not to provide the information, e.g. when ordered by a court of law. Your email address might be used to validate your existence and will be added to the list of email addresses to support a petition if raised.
