Modern warfare dictate that as few humans as possible are killed in a war. As long as this philosophy is followed, the impact of wars to preserve the environment will be negligible. Wars that have a significant number of casualties will have a positive impact through the reduction of populations. This is a VERY controversial view, but is, however, true.
