Fishing quotas have a short term benefit on preserving marine life. As these quotas are set with regards demand and availability, the solution is only short term. As the world population increases to 10 billion by 2100 (currently 7 billion 2021), these quotas will be insufficient and a choice will have to be made: Remove fish from the menu or totally destroy marine life.
